Single Again was a 2014 interview franchise for the now-defunct Radio.com where I investigated chart hits of the past and present, what they meant, and how good they really are. It’s been lost to the ravages of corporate negligence time so I’m restoring all 30 installments of it on RIOTRIOT. Might as well start with the inaugural column, where I spoke to Brendan B. Brown of Wheatus via phone about their high-pitched, millennial power-pop classic “Teenage Dirtbag,” which featured American Pie stars Mena Suvari and Jason Biggs in the video at the height of their fame. I wish I asked if he ever heard from Iron Maiden about it.
