Single Again was a 2014 interview franchise for the now-defunct Radio.com where I investigated chart hits of the past and present, what they meant, and how good they really are. It’s been lost to the ravages of corporate negligence time so I’m restoring all 30 installments of it on RIOTRIOT. For this edition of Single Again, I spoke to singer/drummer Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down about the band’s debut single “Kryptonite,” which peaked at number three on Billboard’s Hot 100 and helped their debut album The Better Life sell over six million copies. At press time, the band was set to embark on an all-acoustic summer tour of America and their record sales topped 20 million worldwide. This past week, Arnold announced he has stage four cancer and canceled the band’s upcoming tour. He was unabashedly polite in our conversation, which took place before the band sadly became known as outspoken Trump supporters.
