So if there’s political content on the new album it’s less obvious than in the past. Is it trickier to work those themes into these more musically complex kind of songs or was it just not that kind of album?
I feel like we've done that so much and even in our collective, like, peer group, everybody's just sick of this shit. It's so much talking and it's just not a lot of things happening. So it didn't feel like it was gonna be adding anything to have that on this record.
What themes were emerging when you started writing the lyrics for this one?
I feel like a lot of just…collective trauma that we'd all experienced being locked away basically for two years I think was a big part of it. Losing people and losing part of yourself, I think those all came out in that record.
