Well, they’re the best band right now. For a decade, Sheer Mag (along with Low Cut Connie) have been making Philly proud as part of a curious pattern of retro-minded rock from the city that blitzes past nostalgia and flat-out yanks classic rock into a future more progressive than anyone could’ve pictured. From their earliest EPs, they resisted comparisons to White Reaper or whomever not just because their riffs are 1000% more kickass but because Tina Halladay was yowling from the perspective of a tenant and voter who refused to accept being fucked over.
